Mary Lou Elliot

Mary Lou Elliot

June 29, 1936 - December 6, 2013

Mary Lou Williams Elliott was born June 29, 1936 in St. Joseph, Mo., to Richard and Nellie Williams.
After a brief illness, Mary went to be with God into Heaven Dec. 6, 2013 peacefully with her daughters by her side. In the early days of the depression as a young child, she and her family made their way to Seattle where she met Jerry Elliott Sr. They married July 3, 1953 and had six children, Jerry Jr., John, Kenny, twins Diana and Donny “Pappy,” and Karen. Mary and Jerry were married 33 years before his sudden death in July 1987. She never remarried. She was a cook in her sister’s restaurants for many years. In 1990 she moved to Omak to live and work in her daughter’s cafe, Diana’s Cafe. In 1997, she worked as a substitute in the kitchen at the Omak School District.
In 2004, she moved to Everett and lived with her two sisters and niece. They started a successful business, Golden Girls Kettle Corn.
They were always laughing and stopped at every yard sale in Everett.
In 2006, she moved in with her daughter, Karen, where she lived for many years until October 2013. She then moved to Valley Care Center.
She loved laughing with her sisters, fishing and dancing the night away. By the end of the night she had no feet left in her stockings.
She absolutely loved her children, especially her grandsons, Donny, Daniel and John. They often stayed the night with Mee-Maw, pitching tents in her living room with every blanket in the house. Then in the morning, homemade biscuits and gravy and cartoons. She was very much loved and will be truly missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by sons, Jerry (Jerri) Elliott Jr. of Everett and Kenny Elliott of Kelso, Wash.; twins Diana (Jeff) Oestreich of Omak and Danny ‘Pappy’ Elliott of Walla Walla, Wash; daughter Karen (Steve) Cagle of Omak; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Elliot Sr.; a son, John Elliott; grandson, Danny Elliott; and granddaughter, Amy Bascue.
Services for Mary Lou will be in July and will be posted at the time. A special thank you to Valley Care Center.
Donations can be made in her name to the Blue Mountain Human Society, 7 George St., Walla Walla, WA 99362.
Mama, we will see you in our dreams, until you and Daddy meet us in Heaven.
