Geraldine M. (Thompson) McLean went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, Feb. 11, 2013, at Harmony House in Brewster. Geraldine was born to George and Flora Thompson Sr. in Okanogan on August 13,1928, the fifth of 13 children.
Geraldine graduated from Okanogan High School in 1947. On June 13, 1947, she and Gene (Mac) McLean were married. After they divorced, Geraldine attended Prairie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta. Geraldine then moved back to Okanogan area where she met and married Charles McDonald. They later lived in Moses Lake where Geraldine enjoyed working with the students in the Moses Lake School District. She moved back to the Okanogan area and remarried Gene McLean in December 1983. Gene and Geraldine lived in Brewster and Okanogan, and after Gene retired as a judge, they had a new home built in Omak.
Geraldine was a long-time member of the Okanogan Nazarene Church. She also belonged to the Okanogan and Omak Senior Centers, where she enjoyed the fellowship. Geraldine was a very devout Christian, and she shared her love of her Lord with all she met.
Geraldine was preceded in death by her parents; three infant siblings; her sisters, Frances, Margaret and Carol; and her brothers, Walter and Raymond. She is survived by her sisters, Mary Harrington and Lillian (Dick) Rogers; brothers, George (Marjorie) Thompson Jr., and Mark (Elizabeth) Thompson; sister-in-law, Jean Ray Thompson; sister-in-law, Shirley Thompson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at the Precht-Harrison-Nearents Chapel on Elmway in Okanogan from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2013. Services were held at 2 p.m., Friday, February 15, 2013, at the Church of the Nazarene on Elmway in Okanogan with Rev. Michael Wilson officiating. Graveside services were at the Okanogan City Cemetery following the church service.
