John Joseph O’Brien, 86, passed away Jan. 6, 2013, in Renton, Wash. He was born Sept. 16, 1926, in Republic, Wash. to Dean and Ruby O’Brien.
John’s early years were spent in Republic, but moved to Omak as a preteen. He attended Omak High School.
John married Isabel Denton on June 26, 1947.
He joined the Navy in 1944 and served in the Pacific Theater until 1946. In 1958, John became an employee of the Boeing Company. He retired from there in 1988. John was a member of New Life Church in Renton for 54 years.
John is survived by his wife of 65 years, Isabel; three sons, Ken, John, and Sid, all of the Renton area; 8 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren.
Viewing was Friday, Jan. 11, 2013 at Greenwood Memorial Park in Renton, Wash. Burial was at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, in Renton, Wash. A celebration of life was held at New Life Church in Renton at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013.
Care was under the direction of Greenwood Memorial Park.
