Sandra “Sandy” Ann Pentz Thomas

Omak, Wash.

July 20, 1938 - January 12, 2013

Sandra (Sandy) Ann Pentz (Thomas) was born July 20, 1938 to Claire and Mildred Pentz (Shumway) in Omak, Wash. and went to be with her Savior unexpectedly on Jan. 12, 2013.
She was an only child and graduated from Omak High School in 1956. She also attended the Washington State University and graduated with a degree in Business Administration. She lived in Omak her entire life, where she rasied her three children, Scott, Jeff and Mike Thomas. She worked along side her father in his furniture store, Pentz Furniture, and later inherited this business. She had various ventures including having worked for KOMW radio station in Omak, owned and operated Craft Country Store, and later sold real estate. She volunteered on the Omak Stampede and Suicide Race Board for 30 years, organizing their grand parade for many years, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2005.
In addition, she volunteered for the Omak Junior Civic League and Omak Chamber of Commerce. Sandy dedicated her life to her children and granchildren and enjoyed spending many weekends with them at the family cabin at Crawfish Lake. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren, working with various crafts, cooking, and just being with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her eldest son, Scott Thomas. She is survived by her son, Jeff Thomas (wife, Connie Thomas), and son, Mike Thomas (wife, Paula Brantner-Thomas); along with eight grandchildren, Brandon, Taryn and Hunter Thomas, Anthony, Kallie and Marissa Thomas, Raquel Brantner and Jocelyn Thomas.
Sandy was a giving person with a compassionate spirit. She was dearly loved by her family and will be missed by many.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at noon at Lighthouse Chapel, Assembly of God, in Riverside, Wash. on Thursday, January 17, 2013.
