Ed was born in Omak to Tom and Nellie Sparks.
He went to school in Okanogan with the class of 1961. He joined the Navy at the age of 17. He completed high school and education as an electrician while in the Navy.
During his life, he worked as an electrician at mills in Washington and Montana, spending the last 35 years at Boise Cascade at Wallula. He served 11 years as the union president, always thinking first of the men and women he represented.
Ed had many interests. He was an avid gun and knife collector, fisherman, Harley rider and gardener. He also loved to cook and can what he grew.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa; son Tom Sparks and his children, Derek, Carissa, and Deven of Omak; son Christopher (Leslie) and their children, Wendy and Logan, of the Tri-Cities. He’s also survived by his sister, Delores (Ken) Dolgner of Omak; and brother, Steve (Sarah) Sparks of Tulsa, Okla.
Preceding him in death was an infant son, Robbie; daughter, Penny; sister, Carolyn Bonar; parents Tom Sparks and Nellie Kihn Sparks; and two infant nephews. No services will be held at this time.
