James “Jim” M. Riggs, 94, passed away peacefully in his sleep, March 5, 2014, while at home with his beloved wife, Allene.
Jim was born April 26, 1919, in Winchester, Ill., to Ralph and Sarah Riggs.
Jim’s family and many friends knew him as a kind, gentle, strong-willed and generous man. He was a veteran of Word War II. After the war, he spent much of his life working as an executive in the banking industry.
Jim was a Mason. He loved the outdoors and spent countless hours fishing with Allene in a tiny boat on San Diego Bay, and later, on the Snake River in Weiser, Idaho.
He enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren, as well as fishing and hunting with his step-grandchildren, Ryan and Jarrett Stewart.
Jim is survived by his adoring soul mate of 37 years, Allene. He is also survived by his four beloved children, Tom Riggs, Katherine Ford, Betsy Wilbur and Mindy Riggs; step-children, Dennis (Vanessa) Stewart and Mike Stewart; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Jim was loved and admired and will greatly be missed. At Jim’s request, there will not be a services.
