Kathryn “Katie” Mae Goyne, 53, left on angel wings at her home surrounded by family on March, 1, 2014.
Katie was born April 21, 1960, in Port Angeles, Wash. Although she was born a “coasty,” she loved her current way of life. She enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends, camping and watching traffic go by, while sitting on her front porch.
Katie was a caregiver for a short while and a cook. She cooked in many establishments in Okanogan and Omak.
Katie was a fighter. She was diagnosed in 2009 with brain cancer and fought hard and won the battle. She was diagnosed with lung cancer for two years, before a heavy snow fell and angels came and took her home.
Katie was surrounded by her kids; Mary Goyne and husband Bill, John (Cheryl) Goyne, Melissa Swindle and husband Clarence; and many grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Burt Wright; and her mother, Mary Bernice Wright.
A party to celebrate her life was March 1, 2014. Her friends and family attended.
At her request, services were not scheduled.
