Tony J. Allen, 71, of Omak, Wash., passed away Nov. 22, 2018, at his home surrounded by family. Tony was born Jan. 6, 1947, in Searcy, Ark., to Toney L.E. Allen and Fayrene Allen. Shortly after, his family relocated to Omak. Tony graduated from Omak High School in 1965 and was a life-long Omak resident. He married Patricia A. Christie in 1967 and together they raised three boys.
Tony was a skilled carpenter and began his craft working on the Grand Coulee Dam, where he was an apprentice. He made many contributions to large construction projects throughout the western states, building schools, hospitals and other large projects. Before retiring, he was a project superintendent for Leone and Keeble.
Tony enjoyed spending time with his friends on the Okanogan Valley Golf Course where he competed with the area's best. At his peak, he earned a 7 handicap.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Patricia Allen; his three boys, Michael, Robert, Derek; daughter-in-law, Dena; and seven grandchildren, Madison Stokes, Kaitlin Allen, Taylor Allen, Keaton Allen, Dylan Allen, Saegan Allen and LeeAnn Allen. In addition, he is survived by his sister, Pat Kramer and brother-in-law, Mal Kramer; his brother Ed Allen and sister-in-law, Janet Allen. He was preceded in death by both his parents.
A celebration of Tony’s life will be held in the spring.
