Kathleen Marie Cress Christensen

Bremerton, WA

February 16, 1947 - January 30, 2018

Kathleen Marie (Cress) Christensen, was born Feb. 16, 1947, at the Biles-Coleman Memorial Hospital in Omak, Wash. to Oroville “Bud” and Genevieve “Teeny” Cress, who preceded her in death. She suddenly passed away in her home Jan. 30, 2018, in Bremerton, Wash.
She is survived by her daughter, Jessica Christensen (David) Crandall of Silverdale, Wash.; son, Dan (Angie) Christensen of Tonasket, Wash.; her sister, Vonda (Cress) Gregory; granddaughters, Michaela, Melanie (Nathan) McAllister, and Sonja Crandall; nieces, Becky, Cindy and Kathy; and great-nieces, Brandy, Rae and Kelsey.
Kathy graduated from Okanogan High School in 1965. Kathy loved to read, watch crime shows, loved to travel, and had many adventures across the globe. She bungee jumped in New Zealand, sailed around the Caribbean, but particularly loved the beaches of North Carolina with her daughter and granddaughter.
Our Mom will be tremendously missed and was a stalwart of a modern lady. Always defensive of the underdog, and mindful of the value of family, Kathy was a center of many lives. In her daughter’s home where she fixed her last meal for her family, predominately hangs the sign; “IN THIS HOME, We do laughter. We do real. We do loud really well. We do mistakes. We do second chances. We do I’m sorrys. We do caring. We do hugs. We do family. WE DO LOVE.” This last year she was able to spend Thanksgiving and some terrific camping adventures in the beautiful Okanogan with Dan, Jessie, Carl, Melanie (Nathan), Sonja and all our wonderful animals.
Kathy loved her animals, her cats, Bob, and Ned and grand-dogs, Bella and Jasper.
Her spunk, her tenacity, hard work ethic, and her great recipes will live on through her family. Our Mother, the adventurer, the great cook, the great champion of us, will be truly missed.
A memorial will at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 24, 2018, at the Eagles 1820 2nd Ave N, Okanogan, WA 98840.
