David Roy Brown was born Oct. 24, 1945, in Omak, Wash., to John Fredrick Brown and Etta Mae (Hagy-Elgie) Brown. David attended and graduated from Omak High School in 1964. In 1965, David went to trade school at Tacoma Institution Vocational Technical, to be a machinist.
Dave left school and entered the service July 25, 1966. He was given an honorable discharge Jan. 27, 1969, from the U.S. Air Force. David was based at Lackland AFB, Texas, Sheppard AFB, Texas, McChord AFB, Tacoma, Wash., Hickam AFB, Hawaii, Andersen AFB, Guam, and Clark AFB, Philippines. After the service he went to work for Biles-Coleman. He put in 30 years working for the different companies that bought and sold Biles-Coleman.
David married Sharon Ann Walter, March 19, 1971, in Omak. They moved to the homestead where Dave grew up. He was a small farmer of alfalfa, cows, and chickens for years, along with working at the plywood plant in Omak.
David was in Cowboy Action Shooting for several years. He traveled around Washington shooting. He loved his shooting.
David is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Jerame Brown (Susan Harris) and Scotty Brown; brother, Daryl Brown; half-brother, Erwood Brown; lots of cousins; and four grandkids, Jessica, Bill, Taylor and Saffi Brown.
David was preceded in death by his parents, John and Etta; brother, Arrin, half-sister, Donna Elgie; and half-brothers, Jim Elgie and Neil Brown.
Viewing will be from 6-8 p.m., Friday, March 2, 2018 at Precht-Harrison Nearents Chapel, Okanogan. A Graveside Military Service will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Okanogan Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 203 Conconully Rd., Okanogan, WA.
A family dinner will follow at Cornerstone Christian Fellowship, 328 Riverside Dr, Omak, WA.
