Roberta Rae (Arns) Nessly, 74, passed away peacefully Sunday, Oct. 14, 2018, at Omak’s Mid-Valley Hospital due to a sudden illness. She was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Omak, Wash. to William (Bill) and Lavern Arns. She was a graduate of Excelsior High School in Norwalk, Calif. Bobbi became a long-time resident of Omak, after brief stays in California, Arkansas, and Texas. She was a dedicated employee of Omak School District serving as a secretary, Para-Professional, HOSTs Math Teacher and Extreme Challenge coordinator. She touched the hearts and minds of many children over her long career in education. Bobbi was a devoted volunteer for many organizations, especially the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Okanogan Eagles. She married her first husband, Melvin J. Duncan, in Aug. of 1963, which produced three children. Then she married William F. Nessly in 1989, which added two more children to their extended family. Bobbi was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Sharon Smith; and brother, Bill Arns. She is survived by her husband, Chuck; siblings, Karen (Alan) Hoerner, and Carl (Kim) Arns; children, Bobby Joe (Lorri) Duncan, Steven L. Duncan, and Kimberly (Steven) Martin; step-children, Patty (Jim) Detro, and William (Nancy) Nessly; grandchildren, Joshua, Natashia, Cody, and Trevor; great-granddaughter, Addison Duncan; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 20, 2018 at the Omak Cemetery, Elmway, with a potluck to follow at Okanogan Eagles from 1 p.m. – 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Okanogan Eagles Aries #3004 Children’s Sharing Tree Fund.
