Wrangler Kids’ Night at the Omak Stampede will feature many of the traditional fun events for youngsters up to age 12, plus a few new things, too, said organizer Wendy Hensarling.
At 4 p.m. Thursday of Stampede, kids will take to the arena and compete in a boot race, hay scramble and more, said Hensarling.
Something extra this year will be a best dressed cowboy and cowgirl competition for all age ranges instead of just one.
Each winner of the six age groups will get prizes for the top dressers, Hensarling said.
Every kid will walk away with a prize, however, regardless of whether hey win, Hensarling said. Sponsors have made possible goodie bags with candy, scarves and toys.
     “Everybody wins,” she said.
While in the arena, the kids will play their games with help from bullfighters Dwayne Hargo Sr., Dwayne Hargo Jr. and Rowdy Barry, and his wife, Loralee, and Miss Omak Stampede Page Davisson, Hensarling said.
Kids will be able to get autographs from their favorite entertainers of the night, along with 75th Stampede memorabilia, she added.
The one-hour kids’ night is sponsored by Wrangler, Pepsi, Concrete Creations and the Okanogan-Omak Rotary Club, a new sponsor this year, Hensarling said.
