Music, food, kids’ games and lots of bucking stock for cowboys and cowgirls will highlight the 65th running of the Chesaw Fourth of July Rodeo.
The holiday kicks off with the Coachmen, formerly the Rounds Brothers from Oroville, playing from 9 p.m. July 3 to 1 a.m. July 4 at the Rodeo Hall (Quonset Hut) in town.
The next morning, breakfast will be served by Molson Grange starting at 6 a.m. at the rodeo hall.
Kids’ small sports will run 10 a.m. to about noon.
A parade, with grand marshals Jim and Alice (Trodden) LaFound leading the way, starts at 12:30 p.m. through town.
The rodeo follows with stock supplied by C&C Rodeo Co. from Riverside, led by Red Clark and Harold Carter.
Clowns this year are Shawn Nigg and Bill McCoy.
Books opened June 25 and run from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. each day until events are filled, say organizers. Entry information is available at 485-3223.
