Ropers pull down big bucks at fair rodeo

     Ropers proved to be the big winners at the Okanogan County Fair Rodeo Sept. 7-8.
     Johnny Sloan took home $509.68 for first place in calf roping after turning his steer in 8.99 seconds.
     John Hagler and Cody Laumb produced a top time of 6.95 seconds to take first in team roping and $509.68.
     Devin Richter, Omak, took first place in saddle bronc riding with a 71-point ride.
     Shawn Best, Omak, was one of only two riders to stay on the bulls, scoring a 68 for second place. Jace Berg was first at 75.

     Bareback - 1, Nick Gutzwiler, 76. 2, Ryan Schmelzer, 75. 3, Caleb Bayes, 72. 4, Justin King, 71.
     Saddle bronc - 1, Devin Richter, 71. 2, Jacob Stacy, 64. 3, Josh Brewster, 51.
     Bull riding - 1, Jace Berg, 75. 2, Shawn Best, 68.
