Lakeside stops Tonasket soccer in playoffs
By Matt Crownover

After ending the regular season with a three-game win streak, the Tonasket soccer team fell 3-1 to Lakeside in a Tri-District 1A/2B game at Nine Mile Falls.
Crispin Rameriz scored the Tigers' lone goal in the first half, but coach Chris Field said his team missed out on plenty of other scoring chances.
"The opportunities that they had, they capitalized on, and the ones that we had, we didn't capitalize, and that was the difference," said Field.
The Tigers were held scoreless after halftime but held the Eagles to one second-half goal.
Tonasket finished the regular season with a 5-4 win over Liberty Bell April and a 5-0 shutout of Omak April 28.
Santos Alvarez scored four goals against the Pioneers and added a hat trick against the Mountain Lions.
"That kid is just phenomenal and nearly impossible to stop one on one," said Field.
The Tigers will play a loser-out game May 6 at Bridgeport. Tonasket is 1-1 against the Mustangs this year.
"We just can't let down our intensity. It's do or die time for us," said Field.
