Springer, Marchand named to softball all-league first team
     Seniors Brooke Springer, Omak, and Tara Marchand, Okanogan, were named to the Caribou Trail League 2008 softball all-league first team in recent voting.
     Chelan's Kim Harter (senior) was named player of the year. She would lead the Goats to first place in the district tournament which culminated May 10 at the Plex in Okanogan.
     Others on the first team included Anna Pickett (senior), Kilee Lippincott (junior) and Amanda Van Diest (senior) of Chelan; Krista Pfister (junior) and Taylor Gilbert (sophomore), Cascade; Megan Jeffris (senior), Cashmere; and Brewster's Martha Taylor (senior).
     Lake Roosevelt received the team sportsmanship award.
     Cascade's Todd Gilbert was named coach of the year.
     Those on the second team include Omak's Ramsi Marchand (sophomore) and Brewster's Kayla Stotts (senior). Others include Jamie Brunner (junior) of Chelan; Emily Petterson (junior), Jenni Elser (senior) and Maria Guzman (senior) of Cascade; Ashley Tarver (senior) and Kecia Ice (senior) of Cashmere.
     Honorable mention went to Liz Rosas (junior) and Courtney Anderson (senior), Okanogan; Morgan Kerr (freshman), Omak; Cierra Silverthorn (junior) and Dana Pryor (junior), Tonasket; Alicia Lawson (senior), Brewster; Veronica Hontou (sophomore) and Megan Kraus (junior), Cascade; Erin Smith (freshman) and Shelby Holt (sophomore), Cashmere: Lyndsey Fox (freshman) and Taylor McClellan (sophomore), Chelan; Janessa Morin (junior) and Teaya Epperson (senior), Lake Roosevelt.
