With a 4-3 victory over Waterville May 10 at Eastmont High School in Wenatchee, the Oroville baseball team put itself in position for a state berth.
     The Hornets, second seed out of District 6, will play District 9 top seed Asotin in the first round of the regional tournament May 17 at Borleske Stadium in Walla Walla.
     Oroville will need to win both of its games that day to advance to the semifinals of the state tournament, to be held May 23-24 at Parker Field in Yakima.
     After the victory over Waterville on May 10, the Hornets fell to Kittitas in a seeding game.
