Plumb opens contest season with top body at competitions
Cody Plumb, a 2001 Tonasket High School graduate, recently wrapped up his second season of body building contests.
Plumb added 20 pounds since last year to compete at 215 pounds.
He then took first place in the heavyweight division and was the overall show winner at the North Western Night of Champions Bodybuilding Championships March 29 in Tacoma.
He duplicated the double wins (overall was a close decision) at the third annual Gold’s Gym Treasure Valley Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure contest in Boise, Idaho. The event drew competitors from British Columbia, Alaska, Washington, Oregon, and Idaho.
Most recently Plumb took first place in heavyweight at the Empire Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness and Figure Championships April 26 in Spokane.
“The pose down looked more like a UFC fight then a bodybuilding contest,” reported Mark Mason on bodybuilding.com. “The four horsemen pushed and shoved, and bobbed and weaved, each vying for perfect stage position and basking in the cheers of the standing-room-only mob.”
Plumb stays in shape from workouts with coach Brad Hollibaugh and also from his job at a cement railroad tie plant.
Plumb is the son of Don and Cathy Plumb, Tonasket.
