Omak High School's track team advanced eight athletes from district May 9 at Tonasket to the regional meet to be held May 17 at West Valley High School in Spokane.
The Pioneer boys finished sixth with 61 points and the girls were eighth with 19 points.
"I'm excited to be taking as many kids as we are to regionals," coach David Lamb said.
From district, the top four in laned events and top seven in non-laned events and field events advance to regionals. The top three boys and top four girls from regionals will earn berths to the state meet in Tacoma.
At Tonasket, Karl Schmidt set personal bests in finishing second in the triple jump at 41-11.5 and second in the long jump at 20-2.
Also with good marks were Brandon Black, sixth in the 400 in 56.06, and Jose Rios, ninth in the 1,600 in 5:32.43.
Kaitlynn Pecha took first in the 3,200 (12:10.95) and first in the 1,600 (5:42.72).
Also reaching regionals in the 1,600 were MaryEllen Rose-Witt (fourth, 6:20.76) and Yuremi Lopez (seventh, 6:27.90).
In girls' javelin, Kirstyn Harvill took second (105-2) and Kari McKee seventh (81-2) to advance.
Also moving on were Chiara Rose-Witt in the 400 (second, 1:03.25), Amanda Emerson in long jump (sixth, 14-3), and Megan Thornton in 800 (seventh, 2:51.78).
Thornton just missed reaching regionals in the 200 by two hundredths of a second (fifth, 28.18).
