Walt Miller, Colville, won the modified main event in the No. 33X car as 21 cars timed in at the season opener at Eagle Track Raceway May 3.
Miller also took the checkered flag in the trophy dash, with Kinyon Beardslee, Kettle Falls, wining the modified B heat and Chris Laughter, Deer Park, in car No. 38 finishing first in the A heat.
Seven drivers finished the modified main event behind Miller. Glen Corfe, Midway, B.C, in car No. 41, took second; Randy Sattler, Republic, driving the No. 99 car, finished third, and Beardslee ended up in fourth place.
John Alexander Sr., Curlew finished fifth, Victor Storm, Loon Lake, in car No. 88 was sixth and Rhett Miller, Colville, in No. 07 took seventh place.
Finishing behind Miller in the trophy dash were Ron Rampley, Tonasket, in the No. 17 car, Sattler and Laughter in fourth place.
In the modified B heat, Rhett Miller captured second, Alexander third and Storm fourth. The A heat saw Corfe take second place, Sattler third and Walt Miller fourth.
In the track’s new super stock division Cody Simons, Republic, in the No. 23 car took the 25-lap main.
Super stock cars may have high performance parts and any type of tires the drivers prefer, according to race organizers. It replaces the old street stock category in which cars could have high-performance parts only if they came from the factory with them.
Greg Fisher, Republic, in the No. 66 car finished second, Bill Hallam, Okanogan, in No. 88, was third, Russ Osborn, Republic in the No. 69 car finished fourth and Darren Metcalf in No. 11x finished fifth.
In the super stock trophy dash Metcalf took first place with Randy Hotchkiss, Republic, in his new No. 12 car finished second with John Alexander Jr., Colville, in No. 8 third and Simons fourth.
In the A heat, Metcalf took the checkered flag with Fisher finishing second, Hallam third, Simons fourth, Osborn fifth, Leon Desautel, Nespelem, in car No. 7 sixth, Hotchkiss seventh and Alexander Jr. eighth.
Five fever four cars competed in the race with Steve Hood, Elmer City, in his No. 74 car winning the 25-lap main event and the trophy dash.
Jim Petty, Creston, who ran the fastest fever four timed lap, took second place in the main with the No. 42 car, with Trent Twamley, Curlew, in No. 13 finishing third.
Ken Martin, Spangle, No. 14, took a fourth place finish with John Boltz, Midway, finishing fifth in the No. 15 car.
In the fever four eight-lap heat, Petty snagged first place with Hood second, Twamley third, Martin fourth, and Boltz fifth.
Hood won the five-lap trophy dash with Petty taking second, Twamley third and Martin fifth.
Dan Stillings won the mechanics’ race in Sattler’s No. 99 car.
The Everett Merritt Memorial Race was sponsored by the Lee Gay family and Jim’s Automotive.
The next race will be Saturday May 17. Happy hour, an opportunity for drivers to make practice laps, is at 11 a.m. Time trials start at noon and racing at 1 p.m.
