Metcalf, Ratel sweep Eagle Track Raceway events

     Darrin Metcalf, Midway, B.C., and Kevin Ratel, Colville, made clean sweeps in winning the dash, heat and main event at Eagle Track Raceway in Republic June 15.
     Metcalf, in the No. 11X super stock car, and Ratel, driving modified No. 17X, each won a $100 extra purse - Metcalf for the clean sweep and Ratel for taking the division with the most cars.
     In fever four competition, Ziggy Grunert, Oroville, had the fastest time for a fever four car, 25.176. His No. 17 car took the A dash and won the heat, but finished the main event behind the No. 74 car driven by Steve Hood, Elmer City.
     The sprint cars crashed after two laps of a five-lap exhibition race. No. 7, driven by Rob Adams of Republic hit the guardrail and Darren Smith, Curlew, spun out in No. 81.
