WENATCHEE - Registrations are being accepted for the Washington State Horticultural Association’s 15th annual Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament set for Aug. 5 at Lake Chelan Municipal Golf Course.
All proceeds from the tournament support scholarships that are awarded to students in honor of past tree fruit industry leaders, say organizers.
Scholarships are awarded in memory of Gerald Nolan, Melvin Crowder, Jim Matson and Delmar Smith.
Over the past 14 years the tournament has raised more than $112,500 for student scholarships.
Tournament entry fee is $100 per person or $400 for a team of four. All entries must be in by July 28, say organizers.
The entry fee covers golf cart rentals, greens fees for the 18-hole scramble format tournament, a commemorative tournament hat, entry into tournament contests and a barbecue dinner.
Sponsorship opportunities still are available.
The field is limited to the first 144 players or 36 teams.
More information and registration are available from Lynette Smith at the Washington State Horticultural Association in Wenatchee, 665-9641 Ext. 819 or lynette@wahort.org.
Registration forms can be downloaded from the association’s Web site, www.wahort.org.
