Omak High School offensive firepower in the first half of its game with Lake Roosevelt fit right in with homecoming festivities.
The Pioneers drove down the field and scored on a two-yard dive by Jesse Riggle (5-46) with 8:25 left in the first quarter.
On the kickoff, a Lake Roosevelt player appeared to lose the handle on the ball and the Pioneers recovered the ball inside the 13.
On first down, C.J. Lockwood (20-116) came up just a foot short of the end zone. After Lake Roosevelt stuffed a run back to the two, Lockwood plowed ahead to score with 7:22 left in the first quarter.
The extra point kick was blocked, leaving Omak up 13-0.
Lake Roosevelt came right back with Dylan Tipps (5-66) speeding up the left side for a 60-yard touchdown.
Omak closed out the half with Riggle scoring on an eight-yard run, Rylan Springer (4-134) catching a quick pass then racing down the right side in front of his bench for a 32-yard touchdown, and Jordan Aguilar jumping straight up in the right side of the end zone for a 22-yard touchdown pass from Brenden Aguilar (8-100-1, 180 yards).
In the second half, Lockwood scored on an 11-yard run and Springer scored on an 87-yard pass from Brenden Aguilar.
The Raiders closed out the quarter scoring a 59-yard pass from Edward Wolfe (8-15-2, 123 yards) to Cade Egbert (4-114).
Brandon Hughes came off Omak’s line to score on a two-yard run.
Raider Cole Stanger (12-106) produced the final score on 73-yard run.
Coach Nick Sackman said that except for three big plays for scores by the Raiders, his defense did well.
“Lake Roosevelt is very big, very physical,” Sackman said. “Offensively, we ran well. Brenden had a good night.”
Other runners for Omak included Jose Diaz (9-60), Dylan Green (1-6), Nate Pfitzer (2-5), and Dameon Landers (1-4). Other receivers included Isaac Bessette (2-18) and Andrew Miller (2-6).
Other runners for Lake Roosevelt included Wolfe (9-22), Shawn Pope (2-3), Jordan Adkins (6-5). Other receivers included Johnny Drywater (1-4).
Omak travels to Okanogan at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17.
