Navarro flows to top in football all-league honors

     Okanogan’s Ben Navarro was named to the Caribou Trail League’s football first team as a tight end following voting Nov. 9.
     Navarro, who as a senior made all of his extra point tries this season, was an honorable mention kicker and first team punter.
     Teammate Jordan Thomas, a senior, was named to the first team as a linebacker, and was a second team running back.
     Omak’s C.J Lockwood and Lake Roosevelt’s Dylan Tipps were each named as first-team running backs. Lockwood was named as defensive back to the second team.
     Lake Roosevelt’s Tipps, a junior, also was an honorable mention defensive back.
     Raider Clint Hernandez, senior, was named as a first team offensive lineman. He was a second team defensive lineman.
     Cashmere’s Derek Todd, a quarterback, and Chelan’s Derrick Talley, a running back, shared offensive player of the year.
     Cashmere’s Josh Mason, a linebacker, was named defensive player of the year.
     Coach of the year honors went to Cashmere’s Phil Zukowski.
     Cashmere received the league’s sportsmanship award.
     Other Omak players receiving honors included Rylan Springer and Andrew Miller, both receivers, both second team; Miller, defensive back, honorable mention; Brandon Hughes, Zach Day and Josh Hudson, offensive linemen, second team; Hughes, defensive lineman, second team; Nate Pfitzer, linebacker, honorable mention; Day and Jerad Hess, defensive line, honorable mentions.
     Other Okanogan players receiving honors included Ryan Price, quarterback, honorable mention; Andres Perez, running back, honorable mention, and linebacker, second team; Jared Peterson, receiver, honorable mention; Jed Mintzer, offensive line, honorable mention; Dylan Zunie-Allen, linebacker, second team.
     Tonasket players included Keegan McCormick, running back, second team; Luci Maldonado, offensive line, honorable mention; Jeramy Dellinger, tight end, second team; Justin Mann, defensive back, honorable mention; Andrew Grillo and Chas Jones, defensive line, both honorable mention.
     Lake Roosevelt’s Cade Egbert was an honorable mention at receiver.
     Brewster’s Danny Villafana was an honorable mention on the defensive line.
