County’s first indoor tennis courts to open Nov. 24 at Agriplex
The first time indoor tennis will be offered in Okanogan County will be on tap starting with a ribbon cutting at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, at the Agriplex at the county fairgrounds.
A drawing will be held for the person getting to be the first to hit a tennis ball in the facility, which holds three full-size courts, said Mark Milner, who will manage the courts.
Milner credited Mike Gilmore, John P. Andrist and Greg Hamilton with coming up with the idea and making it possible to play tennis indoors.
That group then asked Milner, who operates North Cascades Athletic Club, to manage the facility.
A membership in NCAC is not required, though there is a fee to play on the courts, Milner said.
Specials activities include youth tennis lessons starting Dec. 2 along with a Thanksgiving and Christmas special.
