OKANOGAN — The men’s senior softball team sponsored by North Country Pub held a 60-65 tournament June 27-28 at The Plex.
The Ogopogo 65s from Kelowna, B.C., won the 65 division, tournament manager Shirley Bowden said.
Ogopogo won 14-5 over Wenatchee Merchants, 15-8 over D.K. Stanley from Buckley and 9-8 over the Pub before falling 19-9 to Mr. Bee from Wenatchee.
The Wenatchee Merchants won the 60-plus division by beating Mr. Bee 14-11, N.C. Pub 21-15 and D.K. Stanley’s 18-16.
The local N.C. Pub team started the tournament with a 10-7 loss to D.K. Stanley on Saturday.
Leading hitters were Neil Riebe 3-3, Pat Zlateff 2-3 and Lee Pilkinton 2-3.
In the final Saturday game, the Pub could not hold off Mr. Bee, which came from behind to win 19-15.
Leading hitters were Rich Bradshaw 3-4, Zlateff 3-4, Roy Bowden 3-4, Riebe 2-3, Frank Taylor 2-3, Mike Knowlton 2-3 and Al Lashinski 2-3.
On Sunday morning, the Pub fell 9-8 to Ogopogo.
Leading hitters were Lashinski 2-3, Bowden 2-3, Riebe 3-3, Rick Staton 3-3, Bradshaw 2-3, triple, home run.
In the final game, the Pub fell 21-15 to the Wenatchee Merchants.
Leading hitters were Jim Lewis 4-4, Taylor 3-4, Lashinski 3-4 with a triple and Staton 3-3.
Also playing for the Pub over the weekend were Mel Tonasket, Walt Holcomb and Jim Gavin.
