YAKIMA – Chelan’s Kelli Bowers was named to the all-state first team following voting by media attending the state 1A tournament March 3-6 at the SunDome.
Freeman’s Korina Baker was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player.
Others on the first team include Janae Klarich and Samantha Zapien of Granger, and Katie Collier of Seattle Christian.
The second team was made up of MacKenzie Taylor of Freeman, Sarah McGary of Connell, Maren Haines of Bellevue Christian, Lexi Peterson of Seattle Christian and Jasmine Hommes of Lynden Christian.
Cody Schackett of Cascade Christian was named the boys tournament MVP.
Boys on the first team were last year’s MVP John Gage of Vashon Island, Joe Harris of Chelan, David Downs of Bellevue Christian, Mitchell Zapien of Granger and Zack Slesk of Meridian.
Second team for the boys included Kyle Impero of Nooksack Valley, Taylor Vold of Freeman, Ryan Hoff of King's, Josiah Sebens of Meridian, and Alex Wegner of Vashon Island.
