Chief Odegaard reinstates Cruz

Police Chief Darin Odegaard returns officer Cruz's handgun to him in order for Cruz to accompany the chief on a possible domestic violence assault call coming in from Okanogan County Dispatch shortly after 1 p.m.

TONASKET - John Cruz was reinstated to the Tonasket Police force as a reserve officer shortly before 1 p.m. today, Dec. 20. Police Chief Darin Odegaard returned officer Cruz's handgun to him in order for Cruz to accompany the chief on a possible domestic violence assault call coming in from Okanogan County Dispatch shortly after 1 p.m.

Both Odegaard and Cruz were terminated Monday, Dec. 17, leaving the Tonasket Police Department with sole employee Jose Perez, a 31-year-old lateral transfer from Spokane, hired by Odegaard in November.
