REPUBLIC — State Sen. Brian Dansel, R-Republic, will continue to serve in office.

During today's general election, Dansel garnered 18,888 votes of the total 26,057 ballots cast in his 7th Legislative District race against businessman Tony Booth of Colville.

“First and foremost, my family is overwhelmed by support. It’s been an honor to serve as 7th district senate,” Dansel, R-Republic, said. “I would like to thank Tony Booth. He’s been a real gentleman. He ran a real clean campaign.”

Booth, also a Republican, could not be reached for comment late Tuesday night.

In Ferry County, Dansel had a 82.23 percent lead over Booth and 74.13 lead in Okanogan County.

Dansel said he’s honored by the numbers tonight and looks forward to continue serving the people throughout his next term.

Dansel's district colleagues, Reps. Joel Kretz and Shelly Short, also won their respective races in landslide victories.

The legislative district includes part of Okanogan County.
