OKANOGAN — Two Okanogan High School students have won awards in the regional Scholastic Art Competition.

Anahi Castillo won a silver award for “Fredic” and an honorable mention for “The Pastry Chef.” Eduardo Chavez won a silver award for “We are Here,” a mixed media piece.

“Our judges were very impressed with the quality of work submitted,” said a letter from SAWA Committee for Washington State Region and Cornish College of the Arts.

More than 1,000 works were submitted.

Gold and silver award winners will be honored at a reception at 3 p.m. March 11 at Cornish College, 1000 Lenora St., Seattle.
