TWISP - Cascadia’s holiday concerts are set for Dec. 11-12 at the Methow Valley Community Center, 201 E. Methow Valley Highway.
Curtain time is 7 p.m. each night. Admission is by donation.
Cascadia Chorale, with Dana Stromberger conducting, and the Pipestone Orchestra, under the baton of Matthew Erik Armbrust, will present a 20th century-themed program.
In other Cascadia news:
-Peter Aspholm will give a classical guitar recital at 3 p.m. Dec. 2 at the Methow Valley Community Center.
Aspholm, 17 and a senior at Liberty Bell High School, has been a student of Terry Hunt since age 5. He will play pieces by Albeniz, Barrios, Giuliani and Brouwer, along with Vivaldi’s Guitar Concerto in D Major. Papillon String Quartet, a student ensemble of the Pipestone Institute, will accompany him.
Admission is free, but donations will be accepted to fund acoustical treatments at Little Star Montessori’s new building in Winthrop.
-The recent Give Methow campaign raised more than $5,000 for Cascadia.
-Winners of Christine Cherrington Scholarship Fund merit scholarships were Lena Nelson, first place; Sophia Newton, second place, and Stephanie Strong and Agape Owens, third place.
