Harvest festival planned Oct. 6 in Okanogan

OKANOGAN – The annual Okanogan Harvest Festival – including a quilt show, farmers market, pig roast and pet parade – is set for Saturday, Oct 6.

The event starts at 9 a.m. with a street fair and farmers market on Second Avenue.

A quilt show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Cariboo Inn, 223 Queen St.

Folks from the Okanogan Evangelical Presbyterian Church sewing group are staging the show, which will include a variety of sizes and patterns of handmade quilts available for sale.

The pet parade will be at 11 a.m. Lineup is at 10 a.m. in front of the Baines Title and Escrow building, 105 N. Second Ave.

Prizes will be awarded for best costume, look-alike pet and owner, biggest, smallest and most unique entry. There is no charge to enter.

A pig roast will be at noon. A fee will be charged.

People age 21 and older can visit a beer garden from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Children’s activities run all day.
