Methow becomes a winter wonderland

Participants in the Christmas at the End of the Road fun run get ready to race.

WINTHROP — Christmas at the End of the Road drew folks to the downtown area Nov. 23-24.

The event included a 1K fun run at the Winthrop Ice and Sports Arena.

Proceeds benefited Cascadia Music. There were no real winners, but a select few contestants received vouchers for hot chocolate and cookies. Some contestants came dressed in their Christmas best.

A drop-in hockey practice for experienced hockey players was taking place in the morning, with a tournament game later.

A children’s winter festival ran from 1-4 p.m., and there were free horse-drawn carriage rides.

Hot chocolate/cider vendors set up on Riverside Avenue, with Santa and fireworks wrapping up the event.
