Winthrop Vintage Wheels Car Show is this weekend

Winthrop's Riverside Avenue is filled with vehicles during the annual wheels show.

WINTHROP – The annual Winthrop Vintage Wheels Car Show will be this weekend, Sept. 7-8, in the downtown area.

Cars and trucks will be displayed on Riverside Avenue; travel trailers at Pine Near RV Park, 316 Castle Ave.; tractors at the Shafer Museum, 285 Castle Ave., and bicycles at the Rocking Horse Bakery, 265 Riverside Ave. All are within walking distance of each other.

“This is your chance to see some beautiful, restored, iconic wheeled treasures up close,” said the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce.

Registration runs from 5-7 p.m. at the Barn, 51 Highway 20. There is a fee to register a show vehicle.

Vehicles will be parked in the Barn’s parking lot so people can view them.

Saturday brings continued registration from 8:30-10:30 a.m. at the Winthrop Inn, xxx, along with lineup there for the antique car parade.

Staging for other vintage wheels is at 10:30 a.m. at the various show locations.

A car show parade will be at 11 a.m. through downtown Winthrop, with vehicles lined up and parked on Riverside Avenue for public viewing at a show ‘n shine through 3 p.m.

Awards will be given at 3 p.m. for best in show and people’s choice, plus merchant awards.

Capping the event is a 4 p.m. automotive bucket run.
