Gary Erickson and other members of the Winthrop Kiwanis Club cut up beef in preparation for grinding hamburger for The Cove food bank, Twisp. The club donated 28 hours of labor to grind 420 pounds of hamburger from a bovine butchered and donated by club member Suellen White and her husband, Bill. “A lot of families in the Methow Valley are eating better” because of the Whites and club members’ efforts, said club spokesman Roy Reiber.
