Curlew dedicates first public library

CURLEW — What started out as a couple of women shooting the breeze on their rural Ferry Country back porch became a reality Saturday as a ribbon was cut to mark the opening of the community’s first public library.

“The plan was to open our doors in October, and believe it or not, here we are ... and our doors are open,” Friends of the Curlew Library board member Linell Harvey said Saturday afternoon before a packed audience at the library, 11 River St.
