Elementary students honor veterans

Tonasket Elementary students use hand prints to represent the American flag on a window at OK Chevrolet in Tonasket.

TONASKET — Youngsters from Tonasket Elementary School took part in a challenge — hosted by the U.S. Armed Forces Legacy Project — to decorate local storefronts with tributes to veterans.

Patricia Dagnon’s third grade class took first place. Dagnon’s students used handprints accompanied by words that describe soldiers and veterans to create an American flag.
