Thew named Chronicle managing editor

Chris Thew

OMAK — Chris Thew has joined The Chronicle as managing editor and will oversee

newsroom operations.

Thew, 42, had worked as a reporter/photographer for The Chronicle from 2005 to 2009. Thew originally came to The Chronicle after seven years at The Spokesman-Review. In that role, he compiled sports stats and wrote alternative sports features.

He left The Chronicle and worked for SunOpta in Omak as a data coordinator until 2013.

After leaving SunOpta, Thew worked for a competing newspaper in Ferry County until he moved to Spokane earlier this year and started working again at the Spokesman-Review until the end of August.

He has two children, Jonas, 6, and Olivia, 4.

Thew fills a vacancy created by Garrett Rudolph's departure last year to manage a magazine's newsroom.

For more information, see the Sept. 9 issue of The Chronicle.
