Center damaged

Damage shows on the outside of the Eagles Nest Community Center off Omak-Riverside Eastside Road northeast of Omak. Firefighters were called at 11:04 p.m. July 5 to the center for a fire outside the building in or near a garbage can, said Omak Fire Chief Kevin Bowling. Flames spread to the soffit and attic. The building’s interior suffered minor smoke and water damage. Bowling estimated about $50,000 worth of damage was done. The Colville Tribal Police Department is investigating.
