OMAK — After 35 years, Expressions Hair Design and Day Spa has moved from Main Street to share the existing Silver Sage Spa building in Omak.

A temporary sign heralds, “New Location, Same Great Service” at 670 Riverside Drive.

Owner Kathy Miller of Omak said the spa’s seven-person staff, hours and most services remain unchanged since the early December move.

However, Expressions gained a styling station and lost its tanning bed. The spa will no longer offer tanning services.

Expressions continues to offer cutting, hairstyling, special occasion hair, perming, hair coloring, facial waxing, skin care, nail services and massage. It is open 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. Monday to Friday and varying hours Saturday by appointment.

Compared to its previous location with “cubicle” style stations, the spa now feels airy and spacious, Miller said.

A private, curtained “cove” awaits manicure and pedicure seekers, while those coming for hair appointments walk into a long room with three stations alongside one wall and two along the other. A massage parlor nestles in the back, guarded from any noise emanating from blow dryers and chatter.

“We might have actually lost some square feet, but it feels bigger,” Miller said. “That’s what people have been saying.”

“We feel very comfortable here.”

The salon will celebrate the move with an open house from 4-6 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29. The evening will feature door prizes, light snacks, refreshments and drawings for a pedicure, deep conditioning and styling, and retail products.
