Man arrested after Brewster shooting

BRIDGEPORT – Two people were unaccounted for as of Monday morning, Sept. 17, after a fire destroyed a home on Old Highland Orchard Road.

Two occupants of the home escaped the blaze but two, who have not been identified, are missing, said Douglas County Sheriff Kevin W. Morris.

The fire was reported at 9:51 p.m. Sept. 16 in the 700 block of Old Highland Orchard Road. Firefighters and deputies responded, but the home burned to the ground.

Fire and law enforcement investigators are still on scene, Morris said Monday.
