OLYMPIA — Sen. Brian Dansel, R-Republic, was sworn in to serve a full, four-year term as the 7th Legislative District senator yesterday in Olympia.

“I’m honored to be back in Olympia to represent our values,” Dansel said. “We have significant decisions ahead of us in the Legislature and I plan to make sure we fight for a smart, balanced budget while developing real solutions to the needs of our community.”

The former Ferry County Commissioner served last year, completing the unexpired term of Sen. Bob Morton after his decision to retire mid-term. Dansel was re-elected by voters Nov. 4.

Dansel was selected to serve as vice-chairman of both the Natural Resources and Parks, and Agriculture, Water and Rural Economic Development committees. He is expected to play a key role in improving wolf management and protecting local water and property rights.

“Decisions that are made in Olympia can have a huge impact on our lives,” he said. “I will continue my work to bring a new, innovative approach to protecting our Constitutional rights and values.”
