Highway 155 crash

First responders check damage to a pickup truck that collided with a log loader truck about 12:55 p.m. Saturday, April 13, on Highway 155 about eight miles southeast of Omak. The Washington State Patrol said Alyssa Palmer, 19, Coulee Dam, struck the log loader’s rear end, then overturned and blocked the southbound lane. Both lanes were closed for a time. Palmer was taken by ambulance to Mid-Valley Hospital, Omak, with minor injuries. Log loader driver John Leslie, 65, Omak, was not injured. The Washington State Patrol and Omak Fire Department also responded. “Palmer was the causing driver of the collision. However, since the collision occurred on tribal land and she is a tribal member, WSP cannot issue a notice of infraction,” said patrol spokesman Trooper John Bryant.
