OPINION: Telephone scammers are getting clever

Brock Hires

OMAK – The Chronicle has named Brock Hires managing editor of the newspaper.

“Brock has strong community ties in Okanogan and Ferry County and will do a great job continuing to move the newsroom forward in digital and social media,” Chronicle Publisher Teresa Myers said. “He is a natural fit as the new managing editor.”

Hires, 27, has worked as a reporter/photographer for The Chronicle since 2014.

“I’m excited for this new opportunity,” Hires said. “I’m looking forward to continue sharing the stories that shape our lives and communities every day in Okanogan and Ferry counties.”

Hires is married and enjoys his German shepherd, Siamese cats and performing music.

He can be reached at bhires@omakchronicle.com or 509-826-1110, ext. 117.

Hires fills a vacancy left created by Chris Thew’s departure earlier this fall.
