Homeless people can get assistance

OKANOGAN – The Community Day of Services for the Homeless will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 24.

The event will be at the Okanogan County Community Action office, 424 S. Second Ave.

Those in need can get information on housing, health care, help finding work, help signing up for services and help with the path out of homelessness. Warm and/or work clothing and a hot meal will be available.

Participants include veterans’ programs, Community Action, Okanogan County, Northwest Justice Project, Family Health Centers, Okanogan County homeless shelters, Housing Authority of Okanogan County, Oroville Housing Authority, Okanogan Behavioral HealthCare, Room One, The Support Center, state Department of Social and Health Services and others.

The annual homeless survey also is planned.
