Sealed bids for Bid Work will be received by the Okanogan School District No. 105 up to, but no later than 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, the 31st day of August 2017, in the District Office at 115 Rose Street, PO Box 592 Okanogan, WA 98840 for:

Virginia Grainger Elementary Addition

2,935 square foot, single-story addition to existing elementary school

and associated interior and exterior improvements.

Time is of the essence for this Project. Bidders and sub-bidders should be prepared to take whatever action is necessary to complete the Work in a timely manner. Bidders and sub-bidders who are not prepared to take such actions to timely complete the Project should not bid this Project.

Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check, cashier’s check, or bid bond with a State-licensed surety, in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the base bid, made payable to the Okanogan School District. The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a one hundred percent (100%) Performance and Payment Bond, including Washington State sales tax. Such bonds shall be furnished by a surety company acceptable to Owner.

The Okanogan School District shall have the right to accept the lowest responsive bid from a responsible bidder, provided the bid has been submitted in accordance with the requirements of the Bidding Documents and does not exceed the funds available. The Owner shall have the right to waive informalities on a bid or bids and to accept bid(s), which, in the Owner’s judgment is in the District’s best interest. The Okanogan School District shall have the right to reject any and all bids for the project.

No bidder may withdraw its bid after the time set for the opening thereof, unless the award of contract is delayed for a period exceeding sixty (60) days.

There will be two opportunities for Pre-Bid Meeting and subsequent site walk, the first will be held on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. and the second Friday, August 18, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. Both dates will meet at Okanogan School District Office located at 115 Rose St, Okanogan, WA 98840. A roster of those attending the Pre-Bid Meetings will be issued to all plan holders by addendum following the meeting.

Plans and Specifications will be available through Builders Exchange of WA starting July 31, 2017. Free-of-charge access to project bid documents (plans, specifications, addenda, and Bidders List) is provided to Prime Bidders, Subcontractors, and Vendors by going to www.bxwa.com and clicking on “Posted Projects”, “Public Works”, and “Okanogan School District”. This online plan room provides Bidders with fully usable online documents with the ability to: download, view, print, order full/partial plan sets from numerous reprographic sources, and a free online digitizer/take-off tool. It is recommended that Bidders “Register” in order to receive automatic e-mail notification of future addenda and to place themselves on the “Self-Registered Bidders List”. Bidders that do not register will not be automatically notified of addenda and will need to periodically check the on-line plan room for addenda issued on this project.
