OKANOGAN – A man has been charged with taking a motorcycle and winch in August.
Dustin Dewane Gallas, 23, was charged Dec. 8 in Okanogan County Superior Court with vehicle theft and second-degree theft.
Gallas is accused of taking a motorcycle and a 9,500-pound capacity winch from property at 432 Chesaw Road.
Two men allegedly were seen on a game camera taking the items. One was riding a motorcycle and another was walking behind. Neither person’s face could be seen, according to a Deputy Terry Shrable’s report, which was filed as a probable cause statement.
While investigating a burglary and theft at a marijuana farm on O’Neil Road, deputies went to a travel trailer occupied by Gallas’ father, William (Bill) Gallas, and allegedly found the winch.
A search warrant was obtained for the trailer and marijuana allegedly was found. Bill Hallas was arrested, the report said.
The winch was confiscated and Billy Hayworth was subsequently detained. During an interview with Shrable, he allegedly implicated Dustin Gallas.
