CASHMERE — The state Department of Health has suspended the license of a nurse due to potential mental issues.

John Dai Tarver's registered nursing license has been suspended by the Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission after allegations he began acting bizarre, harassing coworkers and threatening police after stealing oxycodone.

The state did not say where Tarver was employed.

He is also accused of vandalizing an apartment complex and sending threatening letters to the deputy investigating his work-related issues, the state said.

Tarver is facing Chelan County Superior Court charges of intimidating a public servant, two counts of felony harassment, three counts of third-degree assault, first-degree malicious mischief, and unlawful possession of a controlled substance-oxycodone.

Under the suspension, Tarver has 20 days to appeal and is prohibited from working until the criminal charges are dismissed or he is convicted.
