KETTLE FALLS — A Curlew man was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Jan. 11.
Robert Lattin, 72, was struck by a vehicle as he walked back to his parked pick-up truck, according to a Washington State Patrol report.
The accident occurred around milepost 256, about 17 miles north of town. The patrol said 72-year-old Bruce Brauner of Kettle Falls was traveling north bound on Highway 395. Lattin’s vehicle was parked in a pullout on the northbound side of the highway. The patrol said Lattin was out of his vehicle and walking towards his 2018 Ford F-150 when Brauner’s vehicle apparently left the roadway and collided with Lattin and his vehicle.
The patrol Lattin’s next of kin was notified. The cause of the wreck was wheels off roadway and the incident remains under investigation, the patrol said.
