LEAVENWORTH – Omak got lots of players involved in a 63-28 win over Cascade in a Caribou Trail League win on Jan. 29.

The Pioneers will need rested players in its final regular season game at Chelan on Feb. 1.

The matchup will be the rubber match between the teams and will determine second- and third-place in the CTL.

Chelan won the first game, 44-19, before Omak took the second game, 45-33.

Each team in the CTL plays the other teams three times in the regular season.

Friday’s winner will be seeded No. 2 to Game 1 against league champion and No. 1 seed Cashmere at 5 p.m. Feb. 9 at Eastmont High School in East Wenatchee.

The winner will host the Northeast 1A league’s No. 3 team Feb. 16.

The loser of Omak/Chelan game will be seeded No. 3 and take on No. 4 Okanogan in Game 2 of the league tournament at 1 p.m. Feb. 9 at Eastmont.

The Game 2 loser is out while the winner plays the loser of the championship game at 5 p.m. Feb. 12 at Eastmont. The winner goes to the NEA No. 2 team for a Feb. 16 game.

“The girls played a great game of team basketball,” Omak coach Mike Ables said. “Our bench got quite a bit of playing time to give our starters a rest, which will help us heading into Chelan on Friday.”

Omak’s Taya Mendoza led all scoring with 22 points to go with 15 rebounds, four steals and three blocks.

Payton Abrahamson followed with 21 points and six steals.

WINTHROP – Liberty Bell knocked off Soap Lake, 56-22, in a Central Washington 2B League game Jan. 29.

The victory lifted the Mountain Lions into a two-way tie with Brewster for first place.

Liberty Bell was led by Jadyn Mitchell’s 20 points and nine rebounds.

Lake Roosevelt 56, Brewster 33

COULEE DAM – Lake Roosevelt blasted Brewster, 56-33, in a Central Washington 2B League showdown Jan. 29.

“Very competitive game,” said Raider coach Peewee Pleasants.

The victory knocked Brewster out of sole possession of first place and into a tie with Liberty Bell.

The win also tied Lake Roosevelt with Waterville-Mansfield for second place at 11-3.

Cashmere 72, Okanogan 19

CASHMERE – League-leading Cashmere cruised to a 72-19 league victory over Okanogan on Jan. 29.

Cashmere led 60-5 in the second half.

Entiat 53, Pateros 45

PATEROS - Entiat retained its hold on first place in the Central Washington 1B League with a 53-45 win over Pateros on Jan. 29.

The Nannies led 28-27 at that half and trailed by a point after three quarters, Pateros coach John Slater said. “Foul trouble hurt us in the fourth quarter, and we were outscored 13 to 6. We played hard and did some good things.”

Aleeka Miller-Smith led Pateros with 20 points.

In the league standings, Entiat (7-1 league, 10-6 overall) enters the final week of the regular season with a one-game lead over Pateros (10-8, 7-3) and Riverside Christian (8-7, 7-3).

The season ends Feb. 7 followed by districts Feb. 12.

Manson 36, Tonasket 34

MANSON - Manson celebrated senior night by charging back in the fourth quarter to get past Tonasket, 36-34, on Jan. 29.

The Tigers led 27-19 after three quarters before Manson won the final quarter, 17-7.

Madilynn Larson led the Tigers with 15 points to go with four rebounds.

“It was nice having Madilynn back tonight,” Tonasket coach Mike Larson said. “She is slow but having her leadership on the floor is nice. We struggled to score again tonight.”

Tonasket outrebounded Manson, 40-17, led by Anna Wilson with 11 boards.

“Anna Wilson played great defense and contributed in many ways,” coach Larson said.

A District 5/6 tournament will play games at either Granger, Chelan or Manson.

The exact sites had not been determined as of Jan. 31.

The tournament starts Feb. 8 with the third- through sixth-place teams from the two districts playing at higher-seeded teams in loser-out games.

Play continues Feb. 9 with winners from Feb. 8 taking on the top two teams from the two districts.

Play continues Feb. 15-16 with five berths on the line to regional play.

District 1B tournament

The 1B District 6 tournament starts with 6 p.m. games Feb. 12 at higher-seeded teams.

Game 1: CWB No. 3 at CWB No. 2.

Game 2: CWB No. 4 at CWB No. 1.

Feb. 14 at Ephrata:

Game 3: Loser Game 1 against Loser Game 2, 3 p.m., loser out
